Exploring Arts Education, Burnaby
This Graduate Diploma in Advanced Professional Studies has been developed in partnership with School District 41 (Burnaby) for elementary and secondary teachers who seek to deepen their understanding of arts education and creative curriculum integration.
PROGRAM THEMES
- Examining contemporary issues in Arts Education
- Designing learning activities that effectively integrate the arts across the curriculum
- Using the arts to address the diverse needs of learners
- Seeking to understand the expression of cultural, inter-cultural,
and Indigenous (articulated as Aboriginal in BC Ministry documentation)
identities through the arts
- Exploring multiple literacies and emerging digital media technologies within arts education
- Exploring the arts as a form of personal and professional inquiry
- Developing an understanding of the ways in which the arts are transformative in the education and life of each learner
