Workshop for ECE's: Supporting Families Through the Transition to Kindergarten

This winter we hosted community preschool and childcare providers for a workshop on supporting families through the transition to Kindergarten. This was a joint effort between the school district and our community agency responsible for Supported Child Development and other support services for "pre-school" children in Delta.

The Goals of the workshop were to:

1.Provide information about Kindergarten/school

2.Explore common expectations for learning/development

3.Share ideas for supporting learning/development


4.Build community capacity to assist families through the transition to Kindergarten

We used the Early Learning Framework as a jumping off point to talk about ways to support students and share common realistic expectations for most students entering Kindergarten. Presentation materials can be found at.
